Residential, Lifestyle and Waterfront Sales

With a career spanning law, international sales, luxury marketing, and lifestyle writing, Monique brings a rare combination of commercial insight and creative flair to Queenstown’s property market. She began her career as a solicitor at Bell Gully, one of New Zealand’s most respected law firms, before completing a Bachelor of Commerce and Law (Hons) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing. Monique then went on to build more than a decade of global experience managing accounts, brands, and teams in New Zealand and the USA for world-leading wine and spirits houses.

Her international experience as a senior lifestyle writer and wine judge in London and New Zealand sharpened her ability to identify what makes something truly stand out — whether it’s a fine wine, an architectural detail, or the story behind a home. Contributing to global luxury lifestyle publications and New Zealand’s Home magazine, Monique developed a talent for showcasing unique qualities with impact, a skill she now brings to presenting properties in the Queenstown market.

Monique has built a reputation for professionalism, meticulous preparation, and timely, transparent communication. She is trusted by clients for her ability to guide complex transactions with clarity and discretion, ensuring every detail of a campaign is handled with precision while always keeping their best interests at heart.

What sets Monique apart:

  • Clear and consistent communication – Through regular and comprehensive reporting for vendors and diligent follow-up with buyers, Monique ensures every detail is covered. Known for always delivering on what she says she will do, she provides honest feedback and transparent guidance, giving clients complete confidence throughout the campaign.
  • Meticulous market preparation – From recommending value-adding improvements to activating trusted trade networks, Monique removes the burden from vendors. Every property is carefully prepared and marketed with precision to maximise exposure and create strong emotional buyer engagement.
  • Negotiation and commercial acumen – Combining sharp business insight, legal training, and tactical negotiation strategies, Monique brings both intelligence and focus to every transaction. Her ability to read the market and drive competition ensures the best possible outcomes for her clients.
  • Authenticity and trust – With warmth and professionalism, Monique builds lasting rapport with vendors, buyers, and stakeholders alike, ensuring the process feels seamless and collaborative from beginning to end. Her authentic approach fosters confidence and transparency, positioning her as a trusted advisor clients can rely on throughout the sales journey.

Based in Queenstown with Bayleys, Monique is passionate about unlocking the full potential of every property and guiding clients seamlessly through their property journey.

Recently we decided sell our property in Arrowtown, NZ, after vetting the real-estate market we employed Hemi Brown and Monique Simpson of Bayleys Queenstown. We have had our property for over 14 years and felt it was time to move on as we had been living overseas for a number of years. Both Hemi and Monique made the process of sale stress-free, professional and friendly. Their initial proposal, weekly reviews and preparation was excellent and put us at ease as overseas vendors. We decided to go the auction path for the sale, however we could not be in the country for this. Hemi and Monique worked with us through the logistics of time zone changes, communication issues and being an absentee vendor. This made us feeling we were part of the process and auction, resulting in the sale of our property on auction day. I would definitely use Hemi and Monique again and would recommend them to family and friends. Thank you Hemi and Monique for your service and support, you both made a stressful process, stressless.

To sell our house Bayleys gave us a top-class team in Monique & Hemi. Their strengths exactly complement each other and the focus is total. Their upper estimate of fair value proved accurate at auction. The advice to undertake specific remedial work prior to auction was vital in achieving the great sale result and only made possible by M&H pro-actively (and unasked) finding a top tradesman to do the work at short notice. Connor's conduct of the auction was masterful. Joan & Gerald.
