Every business needs property in some capacity.  To function successfully a business also needs its property to perform effectively. That’s where Bayleys Building Surveyor – Building Consultancy expert Hamish McDonald comes in. Hamish helps clients’ to ensure their built assets are proactively maintained and performing well for occupants resulting in a robust return on investment.

Hamish holds a Bachelor of Property and Bachelor of Commerce conjoint degree, and has worked with several of the leading property consultancy companies in New Zealand. He has a background in delivering expert condition assessments and long term maintenance plans for commercial and bulk retail properties and providing make good advice for commercial and industrial clients.

Hamish specialises in leveraging technology to deliver bespoke outputs to meet client requirements. He takes the technology lead in the Bayleys Building Consultancy Team, helping it to adapt new tools to more effectively deliver value.

Outside of work Hamish retains a passion for sports after growing up playing both representative and social football in the Bay of Plenty. Today he actively follows basketball and Formula 1. Hamish also believes in constant up-skilling across all facets of his chosen profession and is currently working towards becoming a chartered member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
